REGISTER EARLY for the 2008 RPMDA Convention, April 23-26, and your packet will be ready to pick up when the registration desk opens at noon on Wednesday. A block of rooms is on hold for RPMDA at the beautiful Seaport Hotel located on the historic waterfront of Boston, MA, within walking distance of the Quincy Market, restaurants and close to the city’s many cultural attractions. The convention rate is $179 plus tax for a single or double room. Download the hotel reservation form here. The cut-off date for reservations at the convention rate is April 2, 2008. After that date, rooms will be on an as-available basis at the hotel's regular rate.

REGISTRATION FEES: Your company must be an RPMDA member to register attendees for the convention. Deadline to cancel registration for a refund is Wednesday, April 16, 2008. Registration includes continental breakfasts each morning, Thursday and Friday luncheons and the Saturday night banquet. Additional banquet and luncheon tickets may be purchased at the convention registration desk when you pick up your packet.
Business Registration: $235 per person (U.S. funds). This badge admits wearer to the exhibit hall, all educational sessions, opening and closing speakers, receptions and meals.
Social Registration: $160 per person (U.S. funds). This badge, for non-employee family members and guests, admits wearer to the exhibit hall, opening and closing speakers, receptions and meals.
TRAVEL INFORMATION: A taxi ride one-way from Logan International Airport (BOS) is approximately $20, or you can take the Silver Line Express Bus from Logan Airport to the hotel. This underground express bus is $2 per person one-way. Purchase your “Charlie” ticket from a Silver Line automatic kiosk. Your stop will be the World Trade Center. There are luggage racks on the bus and after a short ride it will drop you off behind and within sight of the Seaport Hotel, approximately a block’s walk away.
WHAT TO WEAR: Dress is business casual for sessions. Business suits and cocktail wear are suitable for the Saturday night banquet. The weather in Boston will be unpredictable this time of year, so be prepared for possible rain, chilly evenings and bring a sweater or jacket to sessions.
SPECIAL OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES
Wednesday, April 23rd, Pre-Convention Sightseeing Trip
Arrive by Tuesday evening, April 22nd, for a guided city tour. We’ll depart at 8 AM from the lobby of the Seaport Hotel for a motor coach overview of the many distinctive neighborhoods of Boston, including Beacon Hill, Back Bay, the Midtown Cultural District, Chinatown and the South End, the largest neighborhood of Victorian-style homes in the country. Fenway Park is on the route. You’ll walk into the North End, Boston’s famous Italian neighborhood, to see the Old North Church where Paul Revere began his midnight ride. The U.S.S. Constitution, Massachusetts State House and the Boston Common are some of the sights along the walking trail. Lunch will be on your own at Faneuil Hall, with a number of meal choices. The afternoon will conclude with a docent tour of the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. Then it’s back to the Seaport Hotel by approximately 4 PM in time for afternoon meetings and exhibit set-up. This tour will involve a considerable amount of walking up and down hills and on cobblestones, so wear comfortable walking shoes, dress in layers and bring an umbrella. Register early, as space for this tour is limited. $75 per person includes transportation and admission fees.
Optional Thursday Evening Event, April 24th, Hosted by Robert King Music Sales/Alphonse Leduc
Buses will depart from the Seaport Hotel by 6 PM for a visit to the nearby town of North Easton, home of Robert King Music Sales. You’ll tour the office facilities, warehouse and picture gallery, and see Mr. King’s original printing press. Mr. and Mrs. King’s daughters will be in attendance for this special event. Tour guests will enjoy dinner at nearby Ames Hall, where they’ll be entertained with a chamber music concert of music published by Alphonse Leduc. Buses should return to the Seaport Hotel by approximately 10 PM. This complimentary event is open to all RPMDA members. Seating is limited to the first 150 people who RSVP when they send in their convention registration.
